my pet peeve

I have what might be considered an unreasonable dislike for static electricity. I hate Las Vegas because every time I touch a door handle, or another person, I get shocked. If I don't hold onto the door frame of out car when I get out, I get shocked when I go to close the door. Drives me crazy. I can't stand the small electric shocks that are a part of living in a world with carpet. Thusly, the idea of carpet skates sends a shiver down my spine.
